“Picture that perfect summer’s evening”

Now in its sixth year, this ever-popular concert has now become one of the ‘must see’ events in the region. Jae Alexander makes a welcome return with the English National Orchestra to lead the audience through a superb programme of popular classics, film themes and all the flag waving favourites associated with “Last Night Of The Proms”. The evening begins with a dramatic aerial display by an original WW2 Spitfire, whilst the orchestra performs the rousing Dambusters March and 633 squadron. Special guest at Weston Park this year is Jon Lord, founder member of Deep Purple and renowned worldwide as one of the UK’s most exciting classical composers and performers. The Keyboard wizard behind ‘Smoke On The Water’ and ‘Child In Time’ he is a true legend and will be performing alongside the English National Orchestra. Tenor Wynne Evans and star soprano Janet Mooney take centre stage to perform a selection of the best-loved songs and arias ever composed. As ever, the evening ends with a fabulous flag waving fireworks finale to accompany Rule Britannia and Land of Hope & Glory.  Weston Park makes for a wonderful location to picnic with family and friends – so make sure you don’t miss out and buy your tickets early!
