“Great location, great picnics, great music, great times, great memories!”
There is simply no better place to embrace the amazing atmosphere of an outdoor picnic concert! The Castle Howard ‘Proms Spectacular’ has become the UK's biggest 'Last Night of the Proms' style concerts in the UK. It offers concert-goers an unforgettable evening of popular classics, flag-waving fun and a truly amazing firework finale, all mirrored in the Great Lake.
Special guest and pre concert performer at Castle Howard this year is the legendary Jon Lord, founder member of Deep Purple & renowned worldwide as one of the UK’s most exciting classical composers and performers. The Keyboard wizard behind Smoke On The Waterand Child In Time- Jon has recorded and performed with some of the World’s premier orchestras and will definitely make a very welcome addition, with his band Gemini, as a pre concert warmer to the main event!
The ever exuberant showman Jae Alexander returns to conduct the English National Orchestra through an evening of popular classics, movie themes and all the Proms favorites, including 1812 Overture, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope & Glory. Jae will be joined by star soprano Janet Mooney and talented Welsh tenor Wynne Evans. Also back by popular demand is pilot Flt Lieutenant Charles Brown, who will again be performing a dramatic aerial display in an original WW2 Spitfire. Enjoy a celebration in the ‘best of British traditions’ with a picnic at Castle Howard - one of the most stunning stately homes in the country.
