Proms Spectacular
Musical Associates are delighted to be producing the proms at Battle in association with English Heritage
Musical Associates make a welcome return over the August Bank Holiday to Britain’s most famous battlefield. Jae Alexander returns after a two year absence to once again take up his baton at Battle to lead the audience through an all embracing programme of popular classics, film themes and firm favourites associated with “Last Night Of The Proms”. The emphasis of this year’s Battle AbbeyProms is firmly on fun and the concert gets off to a flying start with a choreographed aerial display by Flight Lieutenant Charles Brown in a WW2 Spitfire whilst The English National Orchestra performs the rousing Dambusters March and 633 Squadron. Talented Welsh tenor Wynne Evans also returns to Battle to perform a selection of some of the best-loved songs and arias. The evening ends with a fabulous fireworks finale to accompany the flag-waving frenzy of Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope & Glory.
This concert offers that idyllic combination of best picnic place, wonderful music and dazzling fireworks in a magical historic twilight setting. Early booking is strongly recommended for this event.
